Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls from the public
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units via radio systems
- Enter and maintain accurate call data in CAD systems
- Provide critical information to field units during incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies
- Remain calm under extreme pressure during critical incidents
- Complete state-mandated dispatcher training program
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM
- Strong multitasking and situational awareness abilities
- Clear communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- No felony convictions
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights/weekends
- Valid California driver's license
