Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and street sweepers
- Perform manual labor for road repairs, drainage maintenance, and snow removal
- Assist in construction projects including sidewalk repairs and utility line installations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety checks
- Maintain clean and organized work sites following OSHA standards
- Respond to emergency weather conditions (snow storms, floods) as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New York State driver's license with clean record
- 1+ years of construction/public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic equipment operation skills (training provided for heavy machinery)
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
