Responsibilities
- Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from pre-award planning to closeout, ensuring strict adherence to FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation) and state compliance standards.
- Negotiate complex contracts and terms with vendors, ensuring favorable outcomes for the agency while mitigating risk.
- Conduct thorough compliance audits and risk assessments on existing contracts to identify potential liabilities.
- Collaborate with program managers and legal teams to draft and amend contracts that align with strategic project goals.
- Manage and mentor junior contract staff, fostering a culture of excellence and attention to detail.
- Provide expert consultation on government procurement policies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in government contract management or federal procurement.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FAR, DFARS, and state-level contracting regulations.
- Skills: Proficiency in contract management software (e.g., Deltek, GovWave) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex information to stakeholders at all levels.
- Professional Certification: Certified Federal Contract Manager (CFCM) or PMP certification is a plus.
