Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail & Packages: Sort and deliver mail and packages to customers on an assigned route, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Operate Postal Vehicle: Safely operate a USPS vehicle (car or truck) to transport mail between the facility and delivery points.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and resolving delivery concerns professionally.
- Route Management: Maintain an efficient schedule, adhering to delivery times and route standards.
- Physical Handling: Lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 70 pounds in various weather conditions.
- Office Operations: Sort incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail at the local post office facility before route assignment.
Qualifications
- Citizenship Status: Must be a U.S. Citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to walk/drive long distances and lift heavy packages regularly.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with the public.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
