Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to customers in a safe and timely manner, adhering to the established route.
- Sort and process mail on the vehicle or on the route to ensure accurate delivery.
- Obtain signatures and collect payments for CODs and certified mail items.
- Interact with customers professionally, answering inquiries and resolving delivery issues.
- Perform all duties in strict accordance with USPS safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Utilize handheld scanning devices to track mail status and manage inventory.
- Drive and perform minor maintenance checks on USPS vehicles.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or eligible for U.S. citizenship.
- Must possess a valid driver's license (Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not always required for entry-level associates).
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly.
- Must pass a background investigation, including a criminal history check and drug screening.
- Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
