Responsibilities
- Deliver mail and packages to customers on a designated route in a safe and timely manner.
- Sort and organize incoming mail and outgoing parcels efficiently.
- Interact professionally with customers, answering questions and resolving service issues.
- Utilize handheld scanners and other technology to track package deliveries and update tracking information.
- Maintain the physical condition of the vehicle (if applicable) and delivery equipment.
- Adhere to all USPS safety protocols and security guidelines while on the route.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the station.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status is required.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record (required for City Carrier positions).
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and walk distances of up to 10 miles per day.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the schedule.
