Responsibilities
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance and data integrity
- Coordinate health information exchange between VA facilities and community partners
- Conduct quality audits on medical documentation and coding accuracy
- Implement health information security protocols and access controls
- Train staff on VA-specific health information systems and best practices
- Analyze healthcare data trends to support operational improvements
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve information discrepancies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required (or eligible)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in electronic health records management
- Proficiency in ICD-10/CPT coding standards
- Familiarity with VA Vist EHR system preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- U.S. citizenship required
