Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) systems ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Analyze healthcare data to identify trends and support quality improvement initiatives
- Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding practices
- Implement health information security protocols and conduct regular audits
- Train staff on health information systems and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate on health information exchange projects with federal partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in healthcare data management
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and federal health regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
