Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to veterans in accordance with clinical protocols and VA standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Administer medications, perform diagnostic procedures, and monitor patient progress
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Educate patients and families on health management and preventive care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and VA regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care settings
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (e.g., CPRS, VistA)
- VA experience or familiarity with federal healthcare systems preferred
- CPR certification and ability to obtain VA-specific certifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse veteran populations
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
