Responsibilities
- Oversee electronic health record systems (EHR) implementation and optimization for 500+ patient encounters daily
- Ensure HIPAA and VA data security compliance across all health information platforms
- Lead system upgrades and quality improvement initiatives for health information workflows
- Conduct regular audits of health information systems to maintain federal regulatory standards
- Train staff on new health information technologies and documentation protocols
- Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance data accuracy and accessibility
- Develop standardized procedures for health information management and retention
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience with federal health information systems
- Expertise in VA VistA EHR and DoD health data interchange standards
- Proficiency in HIPAA compliance and federal healthcare regulations
- Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
- Demonstrated project management experience in healthcare IT implementations
