Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Oversee data quality control procedures for veteran patient information
- Coordinate with clinical staff to resolve documentation discrepancies
- Implement and audit information security protocols for sensitive veteran data
- Train healthcare personnel on proper documentation practices and system usage
- Generate reports for leadership on health information metrics and trends
- Collaborate with IT teams on system upgrades and compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in healthcare data management
- Proficiency in Epic EHR systems and VA-specific platforms
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA and federal healthcare regulations
- Demonstrated project management experience for system implementations
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
