Responsibilities
- Manage electronic health record systems (VistA) ensuring data integrity and compliance with federal regulations
- Coordinate health information technology implementations and system upgrades
- Train staff on health information management best practices and new technologies
- Conduct audits to ensure HIPAA compliance and data security protocols
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize health information workflows
- Develop policies for health information governance and data lifecycle management
- Support quality improvement initiatives through data analytics and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 3+ years' experience with electronic health record systems (EHR)
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Familiarity with VA VistA system preferred
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and federal health IT regulations
- Experience implementing health information technology projects
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
