Responsibilities
- Oversee implementation and optimization of electronic health record (EHR) systems within VA healthcare facilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate clinical workflows with IT infrastructure
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and cybersecurity protocols for veteran health data
- Develop training programs for staff on new health information technologies
- Collaborate with vendors to customize and troubleshoot healthcare IT solutions
- Analyze system performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities
- Manage IT projects from conception to implementation with VA-specific requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare IT implementation, preferably with VA systems
- VA EHR proficiency (CPRS, VistA) and DoD healthcare IT familiarity
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Project management certification (PMP, PgMP) or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare data standards
- Demonstrated success leading complex IT transformation initiatives
- Experience with agile methodologies in healthcare IT projects
