Responsibilities
- Oversee implementation and optimization of electronic health record (EHR) systems including VistA and Epic
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives for sensitive veteran health data in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to design health information workflows and process improvements
- Manage vendor relationships and system integrations for healthcare technology solutions
- Develop training programs for staff on health information systems and data governance
- Conduct system performance analysis and recommend technical enhancements
- Serve as IT liaison between VA facilities and federal healthcare technology partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience with EHR systems (VistA, Epic, Cerner) in healthcare environments
- FHIMA credentials or equivalent health information management certification
- Demonstrated expertise in healthcare cybersecurity frameworks and risk management
- Strong project management skills with experience in federal IT initiatives
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA IT security clearance
- Experience with VA-specific healthcare technology standards and compliance protocols
