Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation, pension, and healthcare benefit claims with 100% accuracy
- Conduct thorough interviews with veterans, their families, and medical professionals to gather claim evidence
- Utilize VA systems (VBMS, VBA) to maintain claim documentation and ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Provide timely case updates and exceptional service to veterans through phone, email, and in-person interactions
- Collaborate with VA medical centers, attorneys, and veterans' service organizations to resolve complex cases
- Conduct outreach to educate veterans on available benefits and application processes
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards when handling sensitive veteran information
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR 3+ years of specialized experience in benefits administration, customer service, or related field
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex medical and legal documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn VA-specific software quickly
- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background investigation
- Experience working with veterans, military families, or federal claims processing preferred
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced federal environment
- Valid state driver's license (if required for travel to VA facilities)
