Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' benefit claims with accuracy and compassion
- Conduct interviews and gather supporting documentation for claims
- Provide expert guidance to veterans regarding entitlements and eligibility
- Collaborate with medical professionals to assess service-connected disabilities
- Maintain detailed case records in VA systems while ensuring confidentiality
- Represent VA at community outreach events to educate veterans on benefits
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- GS-9: Master's degree or equivalent experience (2+ years)
- GS-11: PhD or 3+ years specialized experience
- GS-12: 4+ years advanced experience in benefits administration
- Knowledge of federal veterans' benefits programs
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills
