Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate VA benefit claims including disability compensation, pension, and education benefits
- Conduct comprehensive interviews with veterans to gather supporting documentation
- Analyze complex medical and service records to determine eligibility criteria
- Provide expert guidance on VA regulations and benefit entitlements
- Maintain accurate case documentation in VA's electronic claims system
- Collaborate with medical professionals and legal specialists on complex cases
- Represent the VA at community outreach events and veteran service organizations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree from accredited institution or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years customer service or case management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management systems
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to individual cases
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and empathy
- Valid driver's license for occasional travel to VA facilities
