Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate complex veterans' compensation, pension, and education benefit claims
- Provide expert guidance to veterans and their families on VA benefits and services
- Conduct thorough medical and vocational evaluations to determine benefit eligibility
- Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and legal professionals to resolve complex cases
- Represent the VA in hearings and appeals before the Board of Veterans' Appeals
- Develop outreach programs to connect veterans with available benefits
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Minimum of one year specialized experience at GS-08 level or equivalent
- Knowledge of veterans' benefits programs (VA, DoD, SSA)
- Ability to interpret complex federal regulations and policies
- Experience in case management and claims processing
- Strong communication skills for veteran interactions and testimony
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in VA claims processing systems (VBMS, VBAS)
