Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' disability compensation and pension claims in accordance with federal regulations
- Conduct thorough interviews with veterans and their families to gather supporting documentation
- Analyze medical evidence and service records to determine benefit eligibility
- Provide expert guidance on VA benefits programs and appeal processes
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with VA policies
- Collaborate with medical professionals and legal experts on complex cases
- Represent the VA in formal hearings and appeals before the Board of Veterans' Appeals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Minimum 2 years of experience in claims processing, customer service, or veterans advocacy
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication abilities (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management systems
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and empathy
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for federal security clearance
- Preferred: Experience with VA benefits systems or military service background
