Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' compensation, pension, and education benefit claims
- Conduct thorough interviews with veterans and their families to gather supporting documentation
- Analyze complex medical and service records to determine eligibility for VA benefits
- Provide expert guidance on VA programs, policies, and procedures
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and legal professionals to resolve complex cases
- Represent the VA in community outreach events to educate veterans about available benefits
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business administration, law, or social services
- Minimum 2 years of experience in claims processing, customer service, or veterans' advocacy
- Proficiency in VA systems (VBMS, VBA) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and empathy
- Knowledge of federal regulations governing veterans' benefits
- Excellent communication skills for diverse stakeholder interactions
