Responsibilities
- Process and adjudicate veterans' benefit claims with 100% accuracy and timeliness
- Provide direct benefits counseling to veterans and their families during weekend hours
- Maintain detailed case documentation in VA's electronic health records system
- Collaborate with medical teams to connect veterans with healthcare services
- Respond to urgent weekend inquiries from veterans requiring immediate assistance
- Conduct eligibility determinations for VA healthcare and compensation programs
- Participate in weekend outreach events to educate veterans on available benefits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years' experience in customer service or benefits administration
- Proficiency with electronic health records and claims processing systems
- VA certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Strong knowledge of federal veterans' benefits regulations (38 CFR)
- Excellent communication skills with diverse populations
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
