Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations to maintain security and order
- Conduct regular rounds, searches, and headcounts to prevent contraband and ensure compliance
- Respond to emergencies, incidents, and medical situations with calm professionalism
- Document incidents, observations, and inmate behavior using digital reporting systems
- Escort inmates within the facility and during court appearances with strict protocol adherence
- Collaborate with healthcare staff, counselors, and other correctional officers for inmate welfare
- Maintain accurate records and reports for administrative review and legal compliance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 21 years of age with valid Washington driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to work rotating weekends (Friday-Sunday) with flexible scheduling availability
- Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to remain composed in high-stress situations
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and reporting systems
- Washington State Corrections Officer certification preferred (training provided if not certified)
