Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and maintain security protocols within correctional facilities
- Conduct routine inspections of living quarters, work areas, and common spaces
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Document incidents, violations, and daily operations accurately
- Enforce facility rules and regulations consistently
- Collaborate with healthcare and rehabilitation staff for inmate welfare
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation
- Physical ability to restrain inmates and handle emergency situations
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Previous law enforcement or security experience preferred
