Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations with professionalism
- Conduct routine security checks and headcounts to maintain order
- Process visitor screenings and control facility access points
- Respond to emergencies and incidents using de-escalation techniques
- Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation
- Collaborate with law enforcement partners during transfers and emergencies
- Operate security systems and perimeter monitoring equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Physical fitness to handle restraining and emergency procedures
- Strong communication skills for inmate and public interactions
- Ability to work weekends and holidays reliably
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
- Previous security or law enforcement experience preferred
