Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and ensure facility security protocols are followed
- Conduct regular security inspections and headcounts
- Respond to incidents and emergencies with appropriate de-escalation techniques
- Maintain accurate logs and incident reports
- Transport inmates between facilities as required
- Provide direct supervision during work programs and recreational activities
- Enforce facility rules and regulations consistently
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification preferred
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Ability to pass background check and physical fitness assessment
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently in high-stress situations
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Must be available for weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) with rotating holidays
