Responsibilities
- Manage 911 emergency calls and dispatch appropriate law enforcement units
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incident reports
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and information to callers
- Monitor surveillance feeds and security systems for state facilities
- Participate in regular emergency drills and training exercises
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years customer service or call center experience
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and typing 45+ WPM
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays
- Basic knowledge of Boston geography and state infrastructure
- Certification in emergency dispatch within 6 months of hire
