Responsibilities
- Manage emergency communications via 911 lines and radio systems for weekend shifts
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain real-time incident tracking using CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Document all interactions in compliance with NIMS protocols
- Provide crisis intervention and caller guidance during emergencies
- Perform system checks and equipment troubleshooting
- Train weekend relief staff on procedures and technology
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- 1+ years public safety dispatch or emergency services experience
- National Emergency Number Association (NENA) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in CAD/RMS systems and multi-line phone systems
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and multitask effectively
- Valid Minnesota driver's license and clean record
- Pass background check and psychological evaluation
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish/Somali highly desirable
