Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility regulations 24/7 on weekends
- Conduct security patrols and headcounts to prevent contraband and escapes
- Respond to emergencies, conflicts, and medical incidents with de-escalation protocols
- Document incidents and maintain detailed shift reports using digital systems
- Screen visitors and packages following strict security procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency responses and transports
- Maintain order during meals, recreation, and other inmate activities
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Successfully complete 160-hour correctional academy training
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays reliably
- Physical fitness to handle emergency situations and restrain inmates
- Basic computer skills for report documentation
