Responsibilities
- Monitor inmate activities and enforce facility rules to maintain security and order
- Conduct regular perimeter checks and surveillance rounds using advanced monitoring systems
- Respond promptly to emergencies including medical incidents, altercations, and security breaches
- Document all incidents, observations, and routine activities in compliance with state protocols
- Escort inmates within the facility and during court appearances with strict adherence to safety procedures
- Operate security equipment including control panels, communication devices, and screening technology
- Collaborate with shift supervisors and law enforcement partners during critical operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in criminal justice preferred
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Physical stamina to stand/walk for extended periods and restrain if necessary
- Strong observational skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Experience in security, military, or law enforcement highly desirable
- Must be at least 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen
