Responsibilities
- Safeguard and manage sensitive government documents with strict adherence to federal and state regulations
- Process public records requests efficiently while maintaining compliance with open records laws
- Coordinate with weekday staff to ensure seamless document workflow and information continuity
- Implement digital archiving systems for both physical and electronic records
- Conduct regular audits to verify document integrity and chain-of-custody protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service to weekend visitors and remote requesters
- Train on specialized government software and security protocols
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Public Administration, Records Management, or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in government records management or archival systems
- Proficiency with document management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Familiarity with Nebraska public records statutes (Neb. Rev. Stat. § 84-712)
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean record
- Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
