As a vital member of our park enforcement team, you'll patrol Golden Gate Park and Presidio areas, ensuring visitor safety and resource protection. This role includes specialized training in crisis intervention, wilderness first aid, and environmental law enforcement.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned park areas during weekend shifts (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) to enforce safety regulations
- Respond to emergency incidents including medical emergencies, lost visitors, and wildlife encounters
- Conduct visitor education on park conservation and safety protocols
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate patrol logs
- Collaborate with rangers, lifeguards, and emergency services during critical incidents
- Operate department vehicles and specialized safety equipment
- Participate in quarterly emergency response training drills
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Minimum 2 years security/public safety experience
- Ability to work weekends and holidays consistently
- Strong communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to walk 8+ miles on varied terrain daily
- Pass background check and psychological evaluation
- California POST Basic Academy certification or equivalent
