Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and construction of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy construction machinery and equipment, such as dump trucks, rollers, and loaders, under the supervision of a foreman.
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, hauling materials, cleaning work sites, and loading/unloading trucks.
- Set up and maintain traffic control zones, including cones, signs, and flagging duties to ensure safety.
- Assist in the installation and repair of public infrastructure, including water lines, sewer lines, and curb and gutter.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working on active job sites.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and project supervisors to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is preferred but not always required.
- Valid California Driverβs License and a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment is a plus.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and in inclement weather when necessary.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude.
