Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate 24/7 radio communication systems and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) software.
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public and law enforcement officers.
- Dispatch appropriate emergency responders (Police, Fire, Medical) to incidents based on location and severity.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date incident logs and status reports.
- Coordinate inter-agency communications and resource allocation during large-scale events or emergencies.
- Provide information and directions to callers in a professional, calm, and efficient manner.
- Perform routine system checks and equipment maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Safety or related field preferred.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM) and proficiency with computer systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check, drug screen, and medical evaluation.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required.
