Responsibilities
- Monitor police radio frequencies and emergency 911 lines for calls for service.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incidents based on location and resource availability.
- Enter and update incident reports and status information into computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Provide critical information to responding officers, including suspect descriptions, vehicle details, and hazards.
- Maintain situational awareness during high-pressure emergency situations.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type 35-40 WPM accurately.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
