Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency 911 and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency.
- Dispatch police units, fire services, and medical responders to incidents using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all calls, dispatches, and unit activity.
- Provide critical information to field personnel and assist in the coordination of emergency response efforts.
- Monitor radio frequencies and maintain situational awareness during high-stress situations.
- Perform data entry and maintain the integrity of the department's records management system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; technical or communication certifications are a plus.
- Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely under pressure.
- Strong typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM) and computer proficiency.
- Ability to remain calm and composed during high-stress, emergency situations.
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
