Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to incident locations using CAD systems.
- Monitor radio frequencies and maintain constant communication with field personnel.
- Enter and maintain accurate, detailed logs of all calls for service and unit status.
- Provide critical information to responding officers to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
- Perform quality assurance checks on calls and assist in the training of new dispatchers.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- U.S. Citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, polygraph, and drug screening.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 30-35 WPM recommended).
- Ability to remain calm and make quick, effective decisions under high-pressure situations.
