Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls via 911 and telephone lines with high accuracy.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services to the appropriate locations.
- Maintain accurate records of all incidents using Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Monitor radio frequencies for unit status updates and officer safety alerts.
- Provide critical information and instructions to callers, including medical guidance when necessary.
- Coordinate closely with field units to ensure a rapid response to emergencies.
- Handle high-pressure situations while maintaining professionalism and composure.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid Michigan Driverβs License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Excellent typing skills and data entry accuracy.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation, drug screen, and psychological evaluation.
- Availability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
