Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve official city records, ordinances, minutes, and public documents in compliance with state statutes
- Administer oaths of office, notarizations, and public record requests with exceptional efficiency
- Coordinate municipal elections, including ballot preparation, polling place logistics, and results certification
- Prepare and maintain the city's legislative agenda, supporting City Council meetings and public hearings
- Serve as the primary liaison between citizens, elected officials, and city departments regarding public records
- Implement digital record management systems to enhance accessibility and security of municipal documents
- Oversee the city's seal authentication and official document certification processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in municipal governance, records management, or public sector administration
- Proficiency in Nebraska public records laws (Neb. Rev. Stat. ยง 84-712 et seq.) and election procedures
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated ability to maintain complex records with 100% accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for public-facing interactions and report preparation
- Valid Nebraska Notary Public commission or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
