Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response activities during public health crises (e.g., disease outbreaks, natural disasters)
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans for state agencies
- Lead multi-agency task forces including local health departments and first responders
- Conduct rapid needs assessments and allocate resources during emergencies
- Prepare public health communications and crisis messaging
- Train staff on emergency protocols and tabletop exercises
- Ensure compliance with federal/state emergency management regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3+ years experience in public health or emergency response coordination
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent preferred
- Proven crisis communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to obtain Secret Clearance within 30 days
- Valid Kansas driver's license
- Experience with NIMS/ICS frameworks
- Ability to work 24/7 during declared emergencies
