Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts using quantitative data and qualitative research
- Develop comprehensive policy recommendations aligned with state strategic goals
- Coordinate with agency stakeholders and legislative committees to advance policy agendas
- Prepare detailed briefing papers, testimony, and public reports for senior leadership
- Monitor implementation of enacted policies and evaluate effectiveness metrics
- Lead cross-functional working groups on urban development and equity initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Proven track record of drafting successful legislation or regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, R, Python)
- Knowledge of New York State government operations and legislative process
- Exceptional written communication and public presentation skills
