Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, ordinances, and minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and polling place coordination
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and administer public record requests
- Provide legislative support to the City Council and prepare meeting agendas
- Ensure compliance with Texas open records and election laws
- Lead records management systems and digital archive initiatives
- Train staff on records retention policies and public information protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 5+ years municipal government or public records experience
- Texas Notary Public certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in Texas Election Code and Local Government Code
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and public speaking skills
- Proven project management and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
