Responsibilities
- Manage, preserve, and provide public access to all official city records, ordinances, and minutes
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and campaign finance compliance
- Administer oaths of office, licenses, permits, and official city documentation
- Serve as clerk to the Common Council, preparing agendas and maintaining meeting records
- Implement records management systems ensuring compliance with state statutes
- Lead public information initiatives and serve as liaison between citizens and city government
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or public records management
- Deep knowledge of Wisconsin election law and open records statutes
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and document databases
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with public-facing experience
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Certification as Municipal Clerk (MMC) or equivalent preferred
