Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and minutes in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Prepare and distribute City Council agendas, packets, and meeting minutes with precision and timeliness.
- Act as the recording officer for all City Council and Commission meetings, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Respond to public information requests and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) inquiries promptly.
- Supervise and train staff within the Clerk's department to ensure high operational standards.
- Oversee municipal election procedures, including voter registration and polling place logistics.
- Coordinate community outreach initiatives and maintain a professional image for the City.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a municipal or government administrative role.
- Strong knowledge of Robert's Rules of Order and parliamentary procedure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with records management software.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
- Valid Nevada driver's license may be required for occasional travel.
