Responsibilities
- Safeguard and maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Coordinate City Council meetings, including agenda preparation, public notifications, and minute documentation
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes in compliance with state regulations
- Manage public records requests ensuring timely and lawful information disclosure
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official municipal seals and documents
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with legal standards
- Serve as primary liaison between city departments and the public for administrative inquiries
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in municipal government or records management
- Proficiency in Texas Local Government Code and open records laws
- Advanced expertise in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Notary Public certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with council meeting protocols and parliamentary procedure
