Responsibilities
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes with strict adherence to state/federal regulations
- Manage and preserve official city records, documents, and archives with digital and physical systems
- Serve as custodian of city seals and attestation of official municipal documents
- Lead public records requests compliance and FOIA responses within statutory timelines
- Oversee city council meeting documentation, ordinance publication, and legislative tracking
- Develop and implement records management policies aligned with archival best practices
- Coordinate with election officials, legal counsel, and department heads on compliance matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government, records management, or election administration
- Expert knowledge of Massachusetts election laws, public records regulations, and municipal governance
- Advanced proficiency with document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Proven leadership managing teams and complex administrative projects
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation or equivalent professional certification
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
