Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee public records requests, ensuring timely responses while balancing transparency with legal compliance
- Coordinate municipal elections, including ballot preparation, polling site logistics, and results certification
- Administer oaths of office, notarizations, and official document authentication
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with Kentucky state statutes
- Serve as primary liaison between city departments and the public for records-related inquiries
- Prepare comprehensive reports for the Mayor, Metro Council, and other governing bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Deep understanding of Kentucky Open Records Act and Sunshine Law requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in document handling
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for public and governmental interactions
- Notary public commission or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Experience with election administration processes preferred
