Responsibilities
- Oversee the preservation, accessibility, and legal compliance of all official city records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage Board of Supervisors agenda preparation, minute-taking, and legislative documentation
- Administer municipal elections, including ballot certification and voter education initiatives
- Lead digital transformation of records management systems for enhanced public access
- Provide notary services and administer oaths for official city documents
- Coordinate public records requests ensuring timely and accurate responses
- Supervise City Clerk staff and implement professional development programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government experience with records management focus
- Advanced certification in Records Management (CRM) or Public Administration (CPM)
- Expertise in California Public Records Act and municipal governance laws
- Proficiency with digital records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Exceptional written communication and public presentation skills
- Experience supervising teams in government or regulated environments
- Knowledge of election administration processes and voting systems
