Responsibilities
- Administer all city council meetings, including agenda preparation, minute documentation, and ordinance codification
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Manage official city records, archives, and public information requests with precision and confidentiality
- Serve as the city's records management officer, ensuring compliance with public records laws
- Coordinate municipal business licensing, permits, and regulatory compliance programs
- Act as the official custodian of the city seal and administer oaths of office
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience with 2 years in supervisory roles
- California Municipal Clerk certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Expert knowledge of California Election Code, Public Records Act, and Brown Act requirements
- Advanced proficiency in municipal record management systems and document automation
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated public speaking experience
