Responsibilities
- Maintain and certify official City Council minutes, ordinances, resolutions, and public records
- Oversee municipal elections administration and voter registration compliance
- Manage public records requests with strict adherence to Texas Public Information Act
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services for city officials
- Coordinate City Council meeting logistics, agendas, and public notices
- Develop and implement records retention policies and digital archiving systems
- Serve as the official custodian of the City Seal and municipal documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in municipal records management or public administration
- Proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Thorough knowledge of Texas Election Code and Public Information Act
- Excellent written communication skills for official document drafting
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) or Municipal Clerk Institute (MCI) preferred
- Ability to manage competing priorities with strict confidentiality requirements
