Responsibilities
- Oversee all city council meetings, including agenda preparation, minute documentation, and ordinance management
- Maintain official municipal records, ensuring compliance with state retention policies
- Manage voter registration, election coordination, and public records requests
- Administer oaths of office and notarization services for city officials
- Coordinate public hearings and community engagement initiatives
- Develop and implement records management systems for digital and physical archives
- Serve as the primary liaison between city departments and the public regarding administrative procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Michigan Notary Public certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems
- Deep knowledge of Michigan's Open Meetings Act and Public Records Act
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
